is there a way to keep cast iron pipe clean after running a snake through it?

from the build up ?

some kind of chemical ??

Yes there is a Chemical called WATER that is amazing in restoring internal piping to a like new condition and restoring full flow.

Even in extra heavy cast iron uncoated (Gray CI) the use of WATER is truly amazing.

Water that is flowing through JETTER hose is better then any other chemical on earth and best of all it is non toxic

I use strictly American made cast iron as I know it meets ASTM standards and will give decades of trouble free service

Imported cast iron is a hit and miss process as some castings are quite brittle and others may have sand holes and sme castngs are just f very poor quality
