The hot water does not work when it is turned over the "hot water" position in the tub. It works fine everywhere else.

Your question is like me telling you My car wont start BUT all my other cars and trucks start perfectly

You should give us a hint on the type /name of the shower and how old it is and if it is a pressure/ temperature balance type

It is a Mohen, and I assume it is 7 years old, that is how old the house is. When I turn the handle over to the hot side only a little bit of water trickles out.

The older Moen faucets had problems with mixing hot into cold water lines.

I would suggest you contact Moen and get a new cartridge and a diagram how to set the temperature limit

Does it sound like that is maybe the problem,I just need to replace the fixture? Thanks for your responses, I appreciate it.
