We are thinking about moving to my grandmothers house, the basment is always wet, it is an old house it has a septic tank that hasn't been pumped out for years. My mother lived there for years and just moved. I called some plumbers and they said they could snake it, and plus I would need someone to pump the septic tank. My mother said that the yard was never wet and that in the basement it never smelled like sewege. That the water in the basement was always from the kitchen sink and or water from outside. I called a septic guy and he said it would be 300 dollars and I called a plumber and he said it would be 145 for snaking it out and 150 for a camera. My question is do I need to do both we don't have a lot of money and I don't know if even moving to the house is worth it. The basement foundation is even cracked in one spot really bad. The house is paid for and we rent now. The septic guy is scheduled to come pump it out this next monday. I need someones help. I am scared to move myself and my son to a house that is going to be more trouble then it is worth.
