our kitchen sink drain is draining slowly now,it has a vent under the sink and it was broken but the sink drained very well so now i replaced the vent cause we were getting some awful smell coming out of the sink but now it drains very slowly again.could this have something to do with the air flow or what? i also snaked the drain system last year so i dont think there is anything out of ideas so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I wish more folks would tell these horror stories of AAV's in the home that fail and let carcinogenic fumes inside the structure.

Because they are prone to failure like any mechanical device the possibility is that the lines were not scoured properly as the venting device did not allow for proper drainage.

I would have the line water jetted to scour the piping to give you full flow and then get a medical check up as sewer fumes are quite dangerous, not just smelling bad
