I have broken the threaded end of a showerhead in the copper elbow leaving the shower hot/cold water mixer. I can't get it out. Should I cut the copper pipe and add a new pipe+elbow socket for the new shower head? Or should I replace the entire shower hot/cold water mixer? Any suggestions...directions...web pages would be great. Thanks in advance!

I would try an extractor first also called an easy out 1/2" pipe size.
If that doesn't work I use a fine tooth hacksaw blade and gently cut two notches into the broken threads about 1/2" apart and using an old flat screw driver knock out the piece I cut MAKING SURE not to score the threads on the female fitting and then I can cave in the threads and unscrew the piece
