Over the last several months we noticed we received less and less cold water out of our kitchen faucet, only hot water. My husband replaced the valves and still no cold water. If we turn it over to hot we get hot and if we turn it over to cold we get hot. Could it be in the pipe itself. We used to get cold water.
Please advise, is it time to call a plumber? Thanking anyone in advance for their kind assistance. Jagone

it is a single faucet, you turn the handle to the left for hot and to the right for cold, the pipes or metal, probably iron, this house is approximately 25 - 30 years old, if that tells you anything. Any suggestions, what would a magnet do and where would I put it?
The magnet if it sticks to the piping means it is ferrous metal if it doesn't it is non ferrous metal.
Galvanized piping like most ferrous metals do suffer from internal corrosion thus limiting the volume the pipe can transfer.
Personally I would shut the water supply disassemble the faucet and check the valve for any debris causing an obstruction.
It also helps knowing if this is a Delta or American Standard single lever faucet or other brand
