So we just bought a house and int he basement I found what i thought was a Homart brand well pump (we're on city water now)... there are two wells, 2" in diameter in our basement floor and the contraption is connected to one well, looks like a peristaltic pump or something similar.. anyways, the pump basically has a motor, and large compression tank (like an air compressor).... i assumed this was used for watering the lawn in years past or as the actual well...

any info... now that i'm searchin on-line, it looks lik Homart made heat pumps, but i dont' see any info on well pumps... i was interested in looiing into repairing it if its a pump and connecting the sprinklers to it in for next summer..

any info would be great...

A peristaltic pump would be very, very, very unusual for a well pump.

A 2" hole would be small for a well.

And two within in the space of a basement would be even stranger.

How old is the house and where is it located?

I have an old Homart piston pump and it looks as if it has hardly been used. I have searched the web with no luck till I come across this forum. I want to use this pump driven by a water wheel, I think from my calculations it should pump about 8 to 10 gallons per minute,if it had the 1750 rpm electric motor . it has a 5:1 drive ratio. I think that figures out that the pump is turning at about 350 rpms ,I have already tested the wheel and I know can get about 400rpm. my problem is i can't find any info for this pump. can you help
