water is rising through the basement floo drain when the upstairs toilet is flushed.There is a loud noise from the shower floor drain which is about 6 foot from the toilet,when the flushing occurs.

Could also be that your plumbing vent is blocked also. Do you have a septic system? If so, when was the last time you had your tank pumped?

I'd suggest a call to a plumber and/or septic professional, if applicable.

no septic. 3 toilets in the house, 1 vent, the other 2 toilets work fine.

You got it right you do have a branch line stoppage as you stated the other two toilets are fine.

You need to snake the line from the floor drain or remove the toilet that is causing the problem and snake it from there NO LESS then a 1/2 wire snake.
