well im trying to fix my toilet and i got the water to stop leaking throw the bolts but now its leaking down the back of the bowl were the tank sits on the bowl. what do i do

The tank has two or three brass bolts depending on model that holds it to the bowl.
These bolts have a washer under the bolt head and sometimes under the tank as well
In the case of a leak I shut the water supply disconnect the tank from the bowl and replace the bolts and Douglas valve gasket as it just doesn't pay to try to save any of these parts.
For about $6.00 you can get an OEM rebuilding kit.
