water pump

my water pump keep running when the water is on, I have drained it and primmed it but it still runs and will not turn off until i turn the water off. can it be the presure switch that is not working properly???

The pressure switch might be a bit off. The pump might be worn. You might have leaks, specially if it is a 2 pipe jet pump.
And lastly you might be drawing more water than the pump can produce.
You really need to have a pressure guage on the system so that you can tell what is going on.
