When hot water drains in our second floor (main living area) from the sink, landry, or washer -- there is a loud banging noise in the pipes on the first floor. The noise lasts for as long as the water is draining. It only happends when the water is hot/warm and not cold.

The coefficient of expansion per degree per inch causes piping to expand and contract unless proper provisions are made during the installation there is going to be noise
