We want to put a bathroom upstairs but unfortunately the only place that we can run the plumbing is inside an exterior wall. What can be done to prevent these pipes from freezing?

I've been doing a little web surfing and found a response to someone with this same concern and someone indicated that a hard foam insulation would be the way to go. Do you know what type of insulation this is referring to? A sheet....a roll....a spray?
