My water softener's brine tank has been very low for over a month. I have added plenty of salt, but the level steadily decreases. Is this a problem? What is causing this? Thanks!

Sounds like it is regenerating too often or just drawing way too much brine.

What type of softener do you? How old is it?

It's a Culligan and we are not 100% sure how old it is. We just moved into the house in March and we know the house was built in 1994 but I'm guessing it is not that old. Do you know what would cause it to draw so much water out of it?

What are you comparing it to? Have you noticed a difference since March? It may be working as designed.

These units are know for high efficiency so you may have to just accept thjat it uses a lot of salt. Or it may need to be adjusted.

Is it a timer or demand model?
