I have a tiled shower and the strainer and flange are in pretty bad shape. The holes in the flange that the strainer screws attach to are corroded badly. I obviously don't want to tear out the tile, so can I insert a smaller pvc flange and new strainer? Is there a more logical fix I should explore?

Sleeving a drain is not the best thing to do as now your reducing the capacity and this will create lots of problems
