I am putting an addition on my home, and will be ballon framing one wall, at the gable end. How do I secure it to the two standard framed wall. Thx

Baloon framing is illegal in modern construction.
You cannot frame any type of walls by balloon framing and meet building code anywhwere in the US.
Sorry. What your propose is illegal and you will have to do differently.
Contact your local code enforcement office on how to comply with your local code.

Actually the county I am in requires it for a Gabled end. In fact if I were doing concrete lock I would have to do an 8ft wall, then have the rest of the wall formed with concrete all the way to the point the roof goes on. With 4 hurricanes hitting the area this year they have changed the code
Here in CA you'd place 3 lags or through bolts w/strap ties & fireblock at the Cjoists.
