I live in an old house with a 30x30 inch shower pan and tile walls. I need to replace the shower pan but can't seem to fine anything smaller than a 32x32. I've checked the major stores and searched online. Moving a wall is not an option since a toilet is immediately on the other side.

What are some possible options? The shower is upstairs, if that makes a difference. I worry about putting tile in its place because of floor instabilities and such. It'd be nice to find a replacement somewhere.

I do not know what part of the planet you are located BUT in civilized states any 5th year apprentice can make a 30 x 30 shower pan as min by code is 900 Sq in.

It does not take a rocket scientist to buy a piece of sheet lead 4 PSF fold the corners so you have a 4" flashing and folded over the threshold.

Then install a NO HUB JR Smith shower drain with adjustable strainer

Thanks for the info. You have to understand, I've never even had a reason to look into any of this before, so I don't know much about sheet lead and such.

These are the kind of options I need to hear about before deciding what to do and filling in the details.

As it is, I'm beginning to think that I'll have to redo some of the sub-flooring and reinforce around the space. What concerns are there in regard to the sub-floor when using sheet lead?

1- Sheet lead pan

2- Terrazzo base also made in 30" x 30" quite expense but saves the labor cost of custom made lead pan AND Terrazzo is quite heavy

3- fiberglass pans / Acrylic type

4- some new plastic /rubber types

That's so very old school. Kerdi is the way to go nowadays.
