i have an indoor drinking fountain that stopped draining, thought the drain was plugged so used drain cleaner, but still did not fix it...looked closer and noticed the drain was running uphill so changed the p-trap and tried to level the drain, but water still backing up....what is the problem with the drain...i can feel a breeze coming thru the drain when i remove the p-trap so i am going to assume that the line is open at least to the vent

take the screen off the drain and run your 1/4 inch sink snake down the line.

probably need to take the trap off then run a cable down the line.maybe you better call a plumber.if you do be sure to tell him you put chemicals in there.

Once someone uses chemicals they normally cause more problems thus costing more to fix something relatively easy to fix originally
