you need a switched outlet under the sink somewhere,just something to consider.

Yes, you can install a garbage disposal for one sink BUT I would strongly suggest you check the diameter of the kitchen sink to make sure it is 2" diameter as many plumbers follow the code which allows for 11/2 in many places and the grease and soap deposits in the smaller diameter waste causes more stoppages.
