When I hang wall frames when should I use caulk vs wood putty? I am hanging chair rail w/ wall frames under the chair rail and paiting it all white. I just am not sure when to use caulk vs wood putty. Thanks for any help.

Use putty to fill nail holes and voids in the wood.

Use caulk to seal the cracks between the wood and the wall.

For best results prime the wood before you putty and caulk.
