I inclosed my carport and installed an attic ladder flush with that ceiling. Then I put up a tunge & groove wood ceiling and when I got to the attic ladder I installed t&g ceiling right over it too, cutting around the edges. The problem was when I got to the hinges of the attic ladder and needing enough space around the higes to open the hatch. I've tryed using a router, but found out that I'm not good at that. Does anyone have any suggestions that will solve my problem?

I assume that you were unable to cut the tongue and groove around the hinges. I would use a rotozip if it were me. If straight lines are what you aren't good at, you can temporarily screw up a guide and fix the holes later. Or simply cut away and put moulding around it like you would a window.
