I have a 60's model Tappan Visualite range/ oven. The good stuff- dual ovens are side by side with glass doors, stovetop pulls out and has a built-in wood cutting block, replaced 2 coils, all electric, very stylish. The bad stuff- small ovens, ovens need to be re-wired, built-in rotisserie bar is missing.
It is heavy, so you need to be able to come pick it up in Austin, TX. Price is negotiable, asking $500.

I am moving into a home that has the exact range that you are describing here. All I need is a model number so that I may find a users manual for it as I am unsure on how to use it.
Thanks !

I am looking for the spring type switch under the right side of the pull out stove top. It prevents the burners from turning on when the drawer is closed
Hi, have you sold your range/ oven yet? I am new to this forum, so I am not sure how to tell how long ago this was posted, or if it has been sold. I am in FW and might be willing to drive and pick up.
Thanks!

Thanks!

I have the one that is exactly like the one above,,,,COME and GET IT... Ovens do NOT work, 4 electic burners do work. Needs cleaning, REALLY does. 50.00 as is, or its going to the dump....
Do you still have any manuals for Tappan 400. I have my 82 year old mother's in the garage and am completely rewiring it with new high temp wire. I am also going to replace the all in one thermostatic control with single thermostatic control and separate switches for the oven and broiler. I am using new relays to control everything, but still would like to get my hands on either a manual or a .PDF of one. Also let me know if you have any rotisserie parts. I can get the motor working again, but don't have the geared rods and other mountings that may go with it.
You could replace that switch with a couple of heavy duty micro switches. They are spring loaded and have a lever with a roller on the end. They would need to be able to hand at least 40 amps at 110 volts. You would need to rework the mounting to accommodate the switches, but it could be done. Something like a square D Limit Switch might work. Go to a used electric motor place if there is one nearby.
