My husband and I just purchased a home that is 80% complete - finishing work still needs to be done on the inside. I am looking for a person to build me a beautiful stone/rock fireplace that goes to the ceiling (12 foot) in my family Room and Master bedroom. The home is in West Chicago, Illinois. The gas fireplace itself is already in place. Are there some referrals out there? We saw a show a while back on building a stone fireplace. Are there magazines/catalogs for designs that I could request? I appreciate anyones help! Thanks! Michelle

I recently saw a show on either "Hometime" or "Home Savvy" which featured a firm that installs stone fireplace facing (it's actually concrete made from forms cast from real stone). If this is what you are interested in, check out www.hometime.com, or www.discovery.com. The information might be available on-line or they should offer videos for sale.
