I am getting a new house built. Currently the drawings show a the flue going up through the family room and enclosed by a 2' by 2' 45 degree wall that basically steal two usable feet of floor space. Does anyone have a suggestion I can request of the builder about running the flue. Are there code issues I need to worry about? I would love to get rid of this wasted space.
