I am getting ready to put up crown molding in my home and was wondering what size finishing nails (16 or 18) do I want to use.
Also, is a nail gun something that can be used on crown molding?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

- Finishing nails for crown molding
It depends on the size & type of crown. Is it wood or MDF 3 1/2 or 5 1/2 kind of thing.
Look on installcrown.com the difference is explained there...
..but, to make a short answer, 16 is better larger head thicker nail, tighter fit better joints... 18's won't create a mushroom in MDF or split as readily in wood so you would use those on an outside corner.
