Good morning

I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of glue/adhesive can be used to glue down 3/4 inch stair nose on my stairs, and where can I get it locally - home depot lowes? The plank is 3 inches wide by 33 inches in lenght. I don't want to use nails, if at all possible. Any input is greatly appreciated.
