I've recently had central heat & air installed in my 70 yr old home and want to remove the old steam radiators. Is this something a single girl can do herself? I can't seem to find anything on how to do this except for "be sure to drain all the water". Big help. After that, what?

Dear Charm,
First of all those old radiators are HEAVY. Since the boiler, I assume, is inoperative, you must first use a pipe wrench to disconnect them. Then remove the pipe nipples extruding through the floor. Then you would need to enlist some heavily muscled individuals to carry them out of the house and find a dealer in the yellow pages that will buy them. They're fetching a pretty good price these days.
