some additonal info.. The metallic smell is more prevalent in the evening than in the day. The tech says that can't be because the furnace does not get any hotter than it does when it first fires up. I don't know why im not an expert. Also The blower housing is not hot to the touch, so i don't think it is overheating....thanks

Could the odor be coming from the fuel itself? Maybe a small leak somewhere or it's not burning cleanly?
Are you using natural gas, propane, ... or
