Carrier makes a remote conrol t- stat that operates on batteries.One reciever can contol up to 4 t- stats and the t-stats can be installed any where without wiring.T-stat is called Totaline. The receiver would still require 24 volts and that would be wired in at your oil burner. The thermostat can be carried around like a TV remote control or you can mount it on the wall-- pretty neat.
