I just bought a 42 year old rancher with a 23' long by about 20' wide addition put on in the last few years. My question is there is two returns in the house. One is in the hallway a few feet from the addtion and the other is by the front door. The furnace is on the other side of the house from the front door. My problem is the living room is drafty. I just put insulation in the attic hoping it would cure it. Can I run ducts from the returns under the house to the laundry room where the furnace is? Will this be enough air for the furnace to run properly. I'm kinda new at this house stuff so any suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

As I have just mastered the sience of all this duct work, with a very limited supply of books. Here are a couple of simple, yet effective tips:
Try to create zones, either with fans (flowtech), or dampers (electric or mechanical).
Next, however many regulators you have (feeders) you need to get that amount of air back into the furnace, or it will just not supply enough air.
Blow the air into the house along the outside walls, and suck it in the middle, note the air flow then.
Helps?
