I have a home in Northern Wisconsin that is on a slab. It now has an ugly gas stove that is heating the house. The house which is a rambler with about 1300 sq.ft.is not insulated very good but I'm working on that. What are some options for heating this place? I've looked into gas fireplaces but $2000 seems like alot for one of them. A furnace I'd have to run the duct work through the attic and the ducts through the ceilings which I don't like the idea. Hot water heat I've priced at $6000 plus. Is there any other options? Thanks

Its expensive but the best way to heat a slab house would be radiant tubing in the floor. If you are ok with raising the floor about an inch, they could lay the tubing in concrete. It will be expensive, I won't lie to you, but you will never have a cold floor which is a real problem with a slab. You didn't mention if this will be your primary residence. If it is, then spend the extra for the radiant. If it is like a hunting cabin(I'm in New York. Everything out there looks like a hunting cabin to me) then be cheap. you are only going to be using itfor short periods.
Best of luck
P.S. can I come over for deer season
