We have a 3 year old forced air furnace and have been remodeling a lower level bathroom. It does not currently have a register on the vent opening - would this cause a whistling noise when the heat is on? The whistling is a continuous noise as long as the heat is on. Any ideas?

The whistling is caused by undersized ducts.
