Greetings--

York model E2FH042S069A Heat Pump unit. Aprox 8 yrs old

At first-- giving error code 4 (discharge sensor problem) and shutting unit down until hard reset.

Replace sensor and wiring. Cleaned all contacts on board.

Now, giving error code 6 (same issue) but this code doesn't require a hard reset.

It seems to do it more late afternoon (hot and sun on that side of the house) and high humidity (over 60-65%)

Dealer is stumped. His recomendations are:

1) replace board (at $5-600 wi no guarentee problem will go away)

or

2) Repalce unit (aprox $1k) with new model that doesn't have all the #$%^& sensors.

Comments ??

THanks !!

THanks for the note--

From what I can tell, the unit it running fine. Its been on, cooling well.

WHen it sends error code 4, the unit keeps running but the compressor shuts off. THen its hard reset time (power cycle the unit at the breaker). It hasnt done this for some time now.

WHen it gets error code 6, nothing out of the ordanary seems to be happening. The unit appears to finish its cooling cycle, shuts down normally, waits aprox 10-15 minutes and comes back on-- cooling as usual.

The real problem is when it goes into error code 4, shuts off and wont come back on when we're out of town.
