I am looking for a practical way to permanently remove 30+ year old ivy and replace with sod. The surface layer has been removed. Roots are at least 3 to 4 feet deep. Thinking about removing the top foot or so of soil, placing polyethelene barrier and replacing with fresh clean soil before I plant grass. Any comments or other suggestions?
