I am thinking of replaceing the oil furnace in my mobile home with an electric furnace. Can anyone tell me the average cost of a electric furnace for a 14 by 72 home? and how the electric usage would compare to the oil usage? What brand are considered the best in electric fyrnace.

thanks

You need to check with YOUR electric utility and check only the rates, but the "plans".

For example that map show the the "average" electric cost in my state is 6.9 c/kWh.

But my actual rate has a year around base of about 7.5 then it as more electric it used the rate INCREASE during the 4 summer months, but decrease during the remainder of the year.

The extra electricity that I would be charged for heating would be about 3.3 cents/kWh.

Some have even cheaper rates if you have an heat storage system with time clock control.
