Something went wrong with the (gas) fireplace on a house less than 3 years of age. With this I need to know:
What kind of guarantees/warranties does a developer puts on a new house and for how long generally.
What are the things that could go wrong with a fireplace? How expensive can this get?

Typically a builder will have a 1 year warantee, except for structrual issues which might be 10 years.
But state laws might have more or less liability.
But the fireplace manufacture might have a long warrantee, so check with them. But, if so, they are often parts only after a short time (3 months to 1 year).
