How to clean evaporator coil - Goodman 2 ton hozintal unit ?

I am planning to clean the evaporator coil in a Goodman horizontal gas furnace with a 2 ton Goodman cased coil unit both installed at rental property about 6 years ago . The unit is located in the crawlspace . Before I get under the I wanted to know if I will have to deal with cutting access holes (and patching) to perform this task ? Any additional tips on performing this evaporator coil cleaning procedure are appreciated .
