I have these dark green rings in my lawn that are anywhere from semi-circle in shape to 3/4 circle. Most have mushrooms growing in them. I've heard them referred to as "fairy rings". I've tried aerating and fertilizer to get rid of them but have not been able to. Any ideas????

I own a landscaping business and I also have them. Best thing to do is fertilize the lawn and try to mask them. More than likely you have rotting timber or tree roots under the groud in these area's. After several years they should go away on there own., I have never used anything that has permenetly worked. You can dig up large amounts of soil and replace it, but this is unrealistic for most people.
