I want to construct panels with molding up my stairs. I realize 2 sides will be parallel with the stair slope and the other 2 should be plumb How do I miter cut these angles on the molding?

So what type power saw(S) do you have available in your "toolbox" ?

I have a tablesaw and a power miter saw. Just trying to figure out how to cut so corners are mitered properly.
For the panels you have only TWO different pieces of molding.....the uprights and the horizontals.......
ALL of the uprights are identical.....they have the same size and have the same angles
The width of the panels MAY vary so the lengths of the horizontals MAY also vary....but any single panel will have a matching pair of horizontal moldings.....
The panels have ACUTE (less than 90º) angles and OBTUSE (greater than 90º) between moldings.....you need to cut a Miter of each acute and obtuse angle.....
Either saw generally can cut the Obtuse/miter angle
.....the Acute/miter angle requires a jig for either saw....I like a sliding-table jig on the table saw
