Apparently your receptacles are wired using a three wire. Therefore giving you 2 circuits at the receptacle. The solution would be to use one of the hot wires at the GFCI and to wirenut the second hot wire at the box. Alternate the circuit to the GFCI as you install them along the wall. Good luck!
