I was replacing outlets in my dining room. THe original outlets are 15A. The breaker is 20A and the wire is 12 gauge. My question is do I need to use 20A outlets or should i replace with the 15A outlets. If I replace with 15A do I need to switch my breaker to a 15A breaker.

Thanks in advance,

bc

No problem with 15amp outlets on 20 breakers with 12 guage wire for residential. If commercial or you are planning to use a 20 amp appliance, then go with a 20 amp outlet.
