I was told by the electrican who wired my house not to buy the puck type undercabinet lights as they generate an enormous amount of heat and have been known to start fires in the past.
He seemed pretty sincere about his facts.
I agree. I have used string lights similar to christmas lights to provide low-heat, ambient light under counters. You do not need bright lights due to the proximity of the cabinet to the countertop.
Home Depot carries puck lights, and I think they carry low-voltage puck lights.
I was looking into the low voltage Puck lights from ******* . Does anyone know if the 12v wiring can be wired directly through the wall down to my basement (about 6ft) then into the transformer and just plugged into a wall outlet? Or what is the best way(even if I use 120v lighting) I dont want to see the wires going down my walls.
