We just purchased a new home in the early fall. Over the last couple of months since the weather has gotten cold the upstairs ceiling is seperating from the walls. I believe this is due to the truss lifting up. What can be done?

They do sell brackets for this purpose. If you lived in Florida it is mandated that all new construction be built with these installed. Ask around any lumber yard and they should be able to acquire these for you. If you have any doubts you can always employ a structural engineer to confirm your belief.
If it is truss lift, this can lead to very serious consequences in the future.
