Sorry, I do not have a direct answer to your question. We have a 45 year old hot tar and pebble roof more commonly used for commercial buildings. We live in the North Eastern US and the pitch of our roof is 2:12. It is a very expensive choice but lasts a very long time. We are only now having a little leakage. What did you discover?

Wood shake and slate shingles are most sensible to leakage than composite or asphalt, because the shingles don't lock together as tightly or lay as flat those another kinds of shingles.
