I am wiring a new family room in our basement. I wonder what is the maximum quantity of outlets I should install on a 15 - amp circuit?

Thank You.

Strange as it may seem, put as many receptacles on this circuit as you want.

The requirement is that you have enough circuit capacity to serve the square feet of finished space. If memory serves me right, that works out to 600 square feet for a 15 amp general purpose lighting circuit.

Tom, Thank you for your response. It means a lot to me. I guess the "heart" of my question would be..........Will a typical 27 inch tv & a computer / printer and a lamp typically draw more then 15 amps if all on at the same time? This is a family room and I wonder if I should divide up the 8 outlets I am planning into 2 circuits?

Thank you in advance.

Or go to 20 amps circuit and run 12/2
