I am trying to sell my house. The house has cedar shingle siding. My large dog had an affinity for the siding and ate a considerable amount of it off of the back of the house. I'm not kidding. It looks terrible and it's inhibiting my ability to get market value for the property (surprise). Every handyman/contractor that I have approached about replacing the missing/chewed shingles has run from the project, often citing the mysterious problem of removing the "backing" left behind when the dog removed the shingles.

Suggestions (my dog has also turned down the job)?
