Suddenly, neither of my bathroom electrical outlets work. I've checked the breakers but that is not the problem. I do not have a electical outlet with a reset button which everyone keeps telling me to check. My house was cleaned the day they stopped working and someone mentioned that the cleaner may have plugged the vaccum into one and caused the problem. What can I do to narrow the possible problem down and fix it?

Hello meagain. Are ypu sure it is not a GFCI. They are not usually where you think they are. Check the garage, behind cabinets, outside, behind curio stands, etc. One feller, I knew searched for a week and finally found one behind some old boxes in his garage, that he hadn't touched for years. It may be in the darnest location. Keep looking. Have you tried your attic?

How old is the house / wiring ??

Is the age of the house or remodel correct for a gfi outlet ??

I will confirm the odd placement for gfi's. I lost all electric in my new house's master bathroom and after a long search found a gfi in the garage that was only connected to the one outlet in the gagage and the master bathroom outlets. I have no idea what the logic was for it.

The tripped GFI (if that's whats causing the problem--which is certainly possible) can also be integrated into circuit breakers. So check your breaker panel. You can spot them easily--they have a "push to reset" button on them.

I know that in my house 2 of the bathrooms share the same GFI. So keep looking for it!
