I have an electrical question. What i want to do is set up an outdoor light to trigger a warning light when the bulb burns out.You see i have a tenant who has his own waste pump.It is below ground but we keep a light bulb burning all through the winter inside of it's enclosure to keep the frost from freezing the pipe.Anyway, I was wondering if it's possible to make it so that when the bulb burns out, an exterior light will come on so I know when it's time to change the bulb.?I have tried a bunch of combinations with a switch that has a small red light on it so you know it's on.No luck. Can you help?TIA,james
Without getting involved with any electronics ... if the shed is dark inside save the 'heat' light, just use a light that comes on at night. You know, with a photo sensor. You can buy just the sensor at the big home stores pretty cheap. Mount the sensor on the inside of the shed and hook it to a light outside the shed. When the shed goes dark, ie the 'heat light' burns out, the outside light comes on. I know it sounds kinda stupid but hey, it's easy and cheap. If the shed is not completely dark, aim the sensor at the heat light and adjust the sensitivity way down ... all the ones I've seen can be easily adjusted.
