I currently have florescent lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms and want to replace it with pendant lighting. Will this require major electrical rewiring or can the electrical supply to the florescent light accommodate three or four pendant lights? (*I'm* not doing the work but wondering if I should contact an electrician or handyman.) Thanks.

Alley,

I vote that you contact an electrical contractor.

Will this project require major rewiring? Impossible to answer online. If you plan on replacing fixtures on a one for one basis, you may luck out and there will be an outlet box installed above each light, which would make the job fairly easy.

If you're going to add additional fixtures, then there will be some new wiring involved. This could be a piece of cake or it could be complicated depending on the construction of your house.

Figure out exactly what you want to do, then call in a couple of contractors to get prices.

Thanks, Tom. I'll be checking for an electrician then.
