I'm installing external Regent Motion Spotlights in my back yard. I already have standard patio lights and was wondering if I could tap into these from outside for power? Or, if I install a separate switch inside can I tap into the switch that controls the already existing outdoor lights?

If you tap into the light fixtures outside your motion lights power will be dependent on the patio light switch. Better to tap into the patio light swith (hot line)- that way your power to the motion lights will be independent of the patio lights.
