I believe you're allowed to have 2 bare ground wires under one screw. (You can't do that with other wires.) You wouldn't want to add another bus by connecting to the current one with a wire.

Take a look at all those fine print labels. You're likely to find one that says you can put 2 (and sometimes 3) equipment grounds under the same terminal. If you want to add an additional equipment ground bus, those labels will most likely have the catalog number of the correct bar. This additional equipment ground bar cannot be used for neutrals.

You could add an auxilary ground bar to your existing panel by using a ground bar designed for your panel and mounting it in the factory holes or in some cases following the OEM directions and drilling your own holes.

BEFORE I would do this, I would double up the bare or green ground wires and make sure all the white wires are in separate holes on the existing neutral bar.

Before disconnecting/loosening a white wire MAKE SURE that circuit is off. You could do some damage to anything plugged i by having a high voltage condition.

Thanks for all the help. Let me make sure I understand this though. In my box it looks like the neutrals and grounds are connected to the same bar. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I could be mistaken I haven't really dived into the project yet but at a glance they all look to be in the same bar.

Also I can double or triple the grounds (according to what my box says) but not the neutrals correct? Thanks for all the help you've all been great!

Yes you can double the ground wires but not the neutrals.

Both are on the same bar if the panel is the MAIN service panel.

IF there is any doubt, contact a licensed electrical contractor in your area.
